Postpartum Doula Instructor


Reports To: Director, Doula and Extension Education Program
Hours: As needed
Starting Wage: $23-25/teaching hour
Deadline for application: open until filled

The Lead and Auxiliary Postpartum Doula Training Instructors are responsible for teaching the Seattle Midwifery School Postpartum Doula Training and coordinating course logistics with Program staff.  Training is provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach courses as scheduled.
  • Prepare presentations, course agenda, assist in recruiting guest lecturers, panelists and models, monitor and report attendance and faculty payroll hours and accounts payable.
  • Assist in maintaining course learning objectives, learning activities, evaluation criteria and course manual.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, continuing education and development activities.
  • Maintain DONA International membership, certification and instructor approval.

Desired qualifications:

  • DONA International Certified Postpartum Doula
  • active practice as a postpartum doula
  • demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • ability to team teach
  • superior organizational skills
  • knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the doula profession.
