Department of Midwifery

The Department of Midwifery at Bastyr University is comprised of the staff and faculty of the former Seattle Midwifery School’s Midwifery Education Program. The new Department of Midwifery at Bastyr is responsible for all aspects of the midwifery program, including clinical placements of students. Staff and faculty in the Department of Midwifery strive to embody leadership in the profession and many are active in midwifery and related national organizations.




The midwifery program offered through the Department of Midwifery is accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council. Complaints regarding the school that have not been satisfactorily resolved may be addressed to:
