Do you accept international students?
Yes. Students who are not US citizens or permanent residents must meet the same standards as US students, including written and oral proficiency in English. Non-US citizens should contact the school for more information before applying. SMS is approved by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to accept foreign students.
All foreign students must demonstrate proof of financial ability to cover their education and expenses while in the US in order to be approved to cross the border to attend classes. Foreign students cannot work in the US on a student visa.

How do you evaluate education received outside of the US?
It is your responsibility to have credits from non-US institutions translated so that we can evaluate them. Several companies offer this service for a modest fee. Contact the admissions specialist for more information.

Is there any financial aid for international students?
Federal financial aid from the US government is not generally available to foreign students. However, your own country may pay for your education in the US. You should also look for scholarships that accept applications from international students.
Canadian students may be able to use Canadian federal financial aid for tuition at SMS.
