Myers Midwifery Scholarship Fund
From the wellspring of 1970’ s grassroots activism Seattle Midwifery School was born and from
the moment of its birth it has been guided and nurtured by some amazing women. These women
brought and continue to bring their unique talents to the cause of educating and inspiring leaders
in the midwifery profession. We are pleased to have created a scholarship to benefit midwifery
students and to honor two of these pioneering women. (How very fortunate for us that Suzy
Myers and Jo Anne Myers-Ciecko share a last name!)
The Myers Midwifery Scholarship Fund will be used to help fund midwifery education for
deserving students through tuition assistance. Eligibility criteria are:
- full-time matriculating students in the Department of Midwifery who have completed at
least the first two quarters of the program with a GPA of 3.0 or better;
- demonstrated financial need in order to security their ability to complete the midwifery
training program;
- cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the midwifery training program;
- commitment to providing midwifery care to an underserved community; and
- demonstrated leadership in the classroom and/or community.
Awards in the form of tuition credit will be made once a year according to the funds available.
Please help us honor these two amazing women and continue their legacy by contributing
to the Myers Midwifery Scholarship Fund. Join us as we move into the next great phase of
midwifery education! What we need now is your support.
