Birth Doula Trainer Course
Penny Simkin teaches this course, which prepares experienced educators and doulas to offer birth doula training in their communities. The Doula Trainer Course consists of the Labor Support Course (four days, used as a teaching laboratory) and one day of teacher training.
The course focuses on class content and teaching methods. Students analyze different teaching styles, learn how to develop learning objectives, and explore ways to teach about ethical issues, scope of practice, and professional standards.
