Credits:
Carole Osborne, her workshops, and all of her primary instructors are approved the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider for 32 CEU’s. CE hours from the State of California Board of Registered Nursing, DONA International and for AMTA & ABMP members are available through Body Therapy Associates/Carole Osborne-Sheets. Carole Osborne is also authorized to provide CEUs to massage therapists licensed in the State of Florida.

Carole OsborneInstructor: Carole Osborne has been an integrative body therapist since 1974. Her work focuses on facilitating somato-emotional and neuromuscular integration, particularly related to childbearing. In 1980 she began collaborating with perinatal professionals and colleagues in researching and developing infant and maternity massage therapy protocols and instructional programs. Carole pioneered the reintroduction of therapeutic massage and bodywork to healthcare for the childbearing year. She has trained parents, hospital association staffs, and over 4000 maternity massage therapists. Carole is the author of two textbooks, Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy and Deep Tissue Sculpting, and provides consultation on videos, prenatal and infant massage media items and curricula at massage therapy schools. Penny Simkin and Phyllis Klaus’ book, When Survivors Give Birth includes Carole’s input. She is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Audience:
Practicing massage therapists with recommended educational prerequisite of 500 hours. You should have good anatomical knowledge and skill and experience in Swedish massage and at least one of the following: deep tissue/myofascial release, structural balancing, trigger point/neuromuscular therapy, or passive movement. Advanced students of massage therapy, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare providers should contact Body Therapy Associates for approval.

The Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy Course is a 32 hour Specialization Certification. Move far beyond general adaptations for maternity and pregnancy massage in this learner friendly, hands-on certification workshop.

Course tuition includes a student handbook with in-depth procedural instruction in techniques taught. Other materials are included featuring numerous pamphlets, marketing examples, and supplemental articles.

Certification:
Attendance and participation in 32 hours of class, 80% accuracy on the written test, and satisfactory performance on hands-on techniques. Students who do not qualify at the end of the workshop may do additional studies after the workshop to complete requirements. Upon completion you will receive a display quality, professional certificate from the instructor's organization, Body Therapy Associates, San Diego, California.
