Seattle Midwifery School Needs Your Help
Midwifery and doula care are gaining recognition throughout
North America. However, much still needs to be done to ensure that every childbearing
woman has access to midwifery and doula care.
Seattle Midwifery School strives not only to train midwives
and doulas, but also to promote the midwifery model of care as the standard of care for
birthing women. As a non-profit organization, we rely on volunteer support and financial
contributions from friends like you.
Here are a few things you can do to help:
Be an Advocate!
Spread the word about the importance of
midwifery and doula care. Tell your friends, family, health care providers,
and elected representatives about the benefits of the midwifery model of
care. More information.
Volunteer!
Volunteers are the pulse of Seattle Midwifery
School. They serve as board and committee members, project managers,
administrative supporters and artistic contractors. Volunteers make time
commitments that range from one-time-only projects to weekly support.

Your donation can help change the face of maternity care. SMS relies on
community contributors for more than 25% of its annual operating budget.
These donations fuel our work as national advocates for midwifery and doula
care and allow us to continue to provide the highest quality educational

SMS raises money by recycling used printer toner cartridges and cell phones. If you would
like to put out a collection box at your workplace, we can provide you
with promotional signs for the boxes. You can also donate used
cell phones by clicking on the button above. You will be sent a
postage-paid shipping box so you can mail your phone from anywhere,
absolutely free!
